Asking directions at the office
Ken's second week at the company. He needs to find the conference room for a meeting but gets lost in the hallway. He spots Tanaka-buchō walking toward him.
ケン (た)(なか)(ぶ)(ちょう)、すみません。会(かい)(ぎ)(しつ)は どこ です か。
田中部長 (かい)(ぎ)(しつ)? ああ、三(さん)(かい)だよ。
ケン (さん)(かい) です か。ここ は 二(に)(かい) です か。
田中部長 そうだよ。ここ は 二(に)(かい)だな。階(かい)(だん) は あそこ。
ケン 💭 Ah, so the conference room is on the third floor. I'm on the second floor... Stairs are over there.
ケン ありがとう ございます。会(かい)(しゃ) は 大(おお)きい です ね。
田中部長 なるほどな、まだ 二(に)(しゅう)(め)だもんな。大(だい)(じょう)(ぶ)だよ、すぐ わかる。
ケン はい、がんばります!
うさぎ あ、ケン! 会(かい)(ぎ) じゃん。がんばってね!
ケン 💭 Wait — she called me "Ken"? Not "Ken-san"? Is that... a good sign?

English Translation
Ken Tanaka-buchō, excuse me. Where is the conference room?
Tanaka The conference room? Ah, it's on the third floor.
Ken The third floor? Is this the second floor?
Tanaka That's right. This is the second floor. The stairs are over there.
Ken Thank you very much. The company is big, isn't it.
Tanaka I see — well, it's still your second week after all. You'll be fine, you'll figure it out soon.
Ken Yes, I'll do my best!
Usagi Oh, Ken! You've got a meeting, huh. Good luck!

meeting / society
カイ · エ · あ(う)
(かい)(しゃ) (かい)(ぎ) (あ)
会社 は 大きい です ね。 — "The company is big, isn't it." Ken says this to Tanaka after getting lost in the office building.
7 strokes
company / shrine
シャ · ジャ · やしろ
(かい)(しゃ) (しゃ)(かい) (じん)(じゃ)
会社 = 会 (meeting) + 社 (company). Together they mean "company" — literally "a place where people meet." Notice how 社会 (society) reverses the order and changes the meaning!

REVIEW — particles は and が (from Unit 4)
うさぎ ランチ は なに が いい?
ケン カレー が いい です。
Usagi: What's good for lunch?
Ken: Curry is good.

は marks the topic (lunch). が marks the specific thing (curry). "As for lunch, curry is good."
REVIEW — particle を + 駅(えき), 出(で)(ぐち) (from Units 4–5)
田中部長 どの 駅(えき) を つかいます か。
ケン (しぶ)(や)(えき) を つかいます。南(みなみ)(ぐち) の 出(で)(ぐち) です。
Tanaka: Which station do you use?
Ken: I use Shibuya Station. It's the south exit.

を marks the direct object (the station Ken uses). 駅 (station) and 出口 (exit) from Unit 5 appear in a new context — talking about commuting.
REVIEW — 入(い)り口(ぐち), 出(で)(ぐち) (from Unit 5)
ケン すみません、入(い)り口(ぐち) は どこ です か。
田中部長 (い)り口(ぐち) は あっちだよ。出(で)(ぐち) は こっち。
Ken: Excuse me, where is the entrance?
Tanaka: The entrance is over that way. The exit is this way.

入り口 (entrance) and 出口 (exit) — from station signs in Unit 5, now used in the office building. Same kanji, new situation.
